MASSMAN

Case Packer for Siding / Soffit Panels
Overview

The Siding and Soffit Panel Production Industry finds, in Massman Automation Designs, LLC, an efficient, productive, system approach to packaging. Siding and Soffit panels -with or without foam backing- are
easily handled to the customer’s satisfaction with a Massman automated case packing/palletizing machine system.

Built to the customer’s specifications, modular units of machinery work together to feed, pack and palletize. An Infeed unit receives panels
directly from the customer’s production line, counting the panels. An operator nests and stacks the panels per the required pack pattern, visually inspecting them at the same time. (Automatic stacking/collating is available.) The Case Packer forms a case and receives (loads) the stack from the infeed. The loaded case is then indexed through closing
of top panel and end flaps, gluing, squaring and sealing stations. The long manufacturer’s flap is then sealed and compressed as the case is processed and positioned for palletizing. In the Palletizer the case is then rotated 90° if required for the pallet pattern. The Gantry Vacuum Head picks the case -holding it momentarily in position to be end-labelled -if required- and places it on the pallet.

All machine system elements are tied together by electronic sensors and PLC control. Mechanisms are servo-motor driven wherever practical. (Cam-driven motions are available.) Operator-accessible areas of the machine are guarded with guard doors, fixed guards or light curtains. With safety and efficiency as top priorities this machine system will be a noticeable productivity asset.

Features

• Heavy tubular steel frame. Wireway channel integral to top of machine frame.
• Case Blank Staging area for reloading the Lift Table Magazine.
• PLC control makes operation simple and trouble-free.
• Touch-screen operator interface.
• Mechanisms are powered by Servo Motor drives where suitable (cam drives available as an option.)
• Variable frequency drives with adjustable automatic overload sensing where applicable.
• Light Curtain “Mute” system at Palletizer Bays- allowing removal and replacement of pallets without stopping machine.
• Perimeter hinged guard door system, electrically interlocked. Infeed Stacking,
Magazine Lift Table and Palletizer Bay areas employ light curtains for safety.
